Mardi Himal Trekking - 11 Days

Mardi Himal Treks is the short trek to the foothills of Mardi Himal placed in the Annapurna region. The trek begins from Pokhara, a beautiful lake city. Mardi Himal treks is another popular trekking trails that bestow us with the beautiful natural environment, & various cultures & the old heritage.                                                                                        Mardi Himal bestows us with the picturesque and overwhelming experience of Himalayan beauty. A soaked view of the hills and walks through the forest of lovely oak and rhododendron. The trek follows beaten trails of shepherds as it still provides summer grazing.

Mardi Himal Base Camp, which is elevated in altitude of 4,500m. While returning from Mardi Himal Base Camp. We will trek down to the beautiful village Siding which is in altitude of 1,460m. From High Camp (3700m; some maps incorrectly mention 3900 m) you can climb up to Mardi Himal Base Camp in about 3-4 hours, which offers spectacular close up views of the entire Annapurna Range.

In the trekking trail, we walk through the ups and downs of a high ridge with the view of Annapurna & Dhaulagiri mountain ranges at the west. Manaslu mountain range and Mt.Machhapuchhre at east. Since it’s the newly establish trekking route, you can enjoy the beauty of nature all by yourself.

Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1400m)
Upon your arrival in TIA, our representative picks you from the Airport and transfers you to the hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu
Day 02: City tour
Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, is a home for different cultural heritages and traditional spots. During your stay at Kathmandu, we will visit Pashupatinath and Bouddhanath. Pashupatinath is a famous Hindu pilgrimage which is the temple of Lord Shiva while Bouddhanath is the biggest monastery in Nepal.
The rest of the day can be spent shopping around Thamel and preparing for the trek. Overnight in Kathmandu
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (1400m)
Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara along the Trishuli River takes about 6/7 hours. During the journey, you can enjoy the view of suspension bridges above the Rivers and Hills on the opposite side and few settlements along the highway. If we have enough time, we explore the Phewa Lake at Lakeside, Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara
Day 04: Drive to Phedi and trek to Deurali (2100m): 30 minutes drive, 4-5 hours trek.
First, we will drive to Phedi on a Jeep through the rough, narrow road. After 30 mins of drive, our trek begins as we ascend through bamboo forests that homes varieties of rhododendron and oak trees. The first settlement we encounter is Dovan (2630m) that has a few lodges and campsites. We will further walk through the muddy trail and crash at Deurali (3230m.). Overnight in Deurali
Day 05: From Deurali to forest camp (2,520m): 6-7 hours
The trek begins on the discreet trail as we leave Deurali village behind us. The trek climbs through birch, rhododendron, mountain oak, maple and hemlock forest which makes the trail enchanting all the way to forest camp. The view of Gandruk, a beautiful Gurung settlement visible from forest camp. We set our camp and get lost into the distinct world of Forest camp…that’s real. Overnight in the forest camp
Day 06: From Forest Camp to low camp (2970m): 5-6 hours
After an early breakfast, our hike begins as we climb through a magnificent ‘cloud’ forest with a swirling mist. As we hike through the routes, we encounter some natural windows in between the woods that bestow fascinating vistas of Hiunchuli and Annapurna south. Down to the left, we can witness the Modi Khola valley that leads to the Annapurna Sanctuary trek. At Low Camp, you spend some time relishing the sight of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and then camp for the night hereabouts.

Day 07: From Low camp to high camp (3540m): 3-4 hours
After a short steep climb, we leave the protecting shady forest and get to the ridge that takes us up to high camp. The high camp offers some breathtaking views of Himalayas as we acclimatize naturally. The views of the Annapurna Range, including Annapurna south, are exasperating. Overnight in High Camp
Day 08: From High camp to upper viewpoint (4250m/13600ft), return back to high camp: 2-3 hours
It’s the day for acclimatizing our body to the changing altitude. We will spend our time exploring our surroundings and enjoying the imaginative landscapes. We will trek for a couple of hours to the upper viewpoint and then trek back to High camp. Overnight in High camp
Day 09: From High Camp to Siding Village (1700m/5440ft): 6-7 hours
As we trace the same route back to Low Camp, we descend through moss-covered rhododendron and oak forest to the beautiful Gurung village of Siding. We make a sharp descent through; down 1600m; that takes us all the way down to upper Mardi Khola. Overnight in Siding village

Day 10: From Trek to Lumiere, drive to Pokhara
Today, we descent to Lumre, where the land is flat than mountainous. As we move down between the lush pastures and cross the ethnic villages of Tamangs and Gurungs; we board our vehicle for Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara
Day 11: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu
After early breakfast, it’s time to leave Pokhara. We will either take a tourist bus to Kathmandu where we can enjoy the beautiful views of terraced hills and Rivers on the way. After reaching Kathmandu we can either take rest or do some shopping around Thamel. Overnight in Kathmandu
Day 12: Final Departure
